Free Tasting
Kardesler Groente, a group booth in New York artbook fair, October 2022
As part of the 2022 New York Art Book Fair, the Werkplaats Typografie published a project titled "Kardesler Groente". The project involved compressing, transferring, and decompressing Kardesler Groente & Fruit, a fruit and vegetable store located in West Amsterdam, into a book format. As a contributor to the fair, I presented my work titled "Free Tasting".
This work consisted of 7 instructions for visitors to interact with the fruit in a unique way. These instructions included: 1, Kissing the nipple of a lemon. 2, Using a carrot to unlock a phone. 3, Lighting an onion. 4, Petting a watermelon until it gets warm, 5, Cutting a very small slice of a pear and eating it. 6, Pulling a pineapple leaf and tasting it. 7, Eating a piece of apple while smelling the skin of a mandarin. I aimed to encourage people to engage with the fruit and to provide a new experience for them to refresh their views to these normal fruits.
