Around Publishing

独立出版艺术书已经在中国成为非法行为。许多书籍艺术家，出版商，印刷厂，艺术书展被勒令警告或处于刑罚。在严格的“禁书令”中，独立出版工作者的热情和向往该去向何方。如果“出版”不行，那“围绕出版”呢？我们战战兢兢顺利完成了在上海一个月的围绕出版的展览和活动。
Independent art book publishing has become illegal and been banned in China. Many book artists, publishers, printers, art book exhibitions and fairs have been ordered to stop or have been punished. How can independent publishers survive and continue to explore more? If "publishing" isn't allowed, what about "around publishing"? In August 2024, we held an exhibition and a series of art events at E.SCAPE Art Space in Shanghai to build links between international and local graphic designers and artists, bringing together various forms of artistic experimentation with the aim of exploring more possibilities in publishing. Activities include exhibitions, a reading room, workshops, food projects, sound performances, movie nights and more.
