Hethem, Zaandam, NL, 2021
During my residency at HetHem in 2021, I had the opportunity to document and make a series of short videos. This project involved careful observation and arrangement of everyday objects within the space, with the aim of capturing and creating new situations.
Keep the door close/open, 00:35 min
When we lived in Hethem, the manager of the building used to send emails to the residents to remind us to keep the door closed, but we always didn't have enough keys to take with when we went outside for a short break, so we always put a small stone in the gap between the door to make it look like an invisible closing or opening. The stone became a hidden word between the manager and the residents. I rewrote the situation with a wild flower in a daily water glass with a notebook. It creates a complex emotion when people enter the space through the door.
