I observe and build object interventions: actions on objects that function as a language to communicate in everyday spaces. My work takes the form of video, food, and live interaction. Object intervention is a language of communication, different from words. I often feel that words are limited to describing emotions, and there are still many unknown feelings that arise from our encounters with ordinary daily situations. In a broader context, this way of expression has similarities that can be found in the ancient Chinese poems Yixiang(意象) as well as the Japanese philosophy Mono No Aware(物哀)and the aesthetics of Wabi Sabi (侘寂). In these concepts, the use of objects is a way of experiencing emotions through (the use of) objects.
